A BILL to amend and reenact section seven-a, article one, chapter
twenty-two of the code of West Virginia, one thousand nine
hundred thirty-one, as amended, relating to continuation of
the office of water resources.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:

That section seven-a, article one, chapter twenty-two of the
code of West Virginia, one thousand nine hundred thirty-one, as
amended, be amended and reenacted to read as follows:
ARTICLE 1. DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION.
§22-1-7a. Continuation of office of water resources.

The office of water resources shall terminate on continue to
exist until the first day of July, two thousand two four, pursuant
to the provisions of article ten, chapter four of this code unless
sooner terminated, continued or reestablished pursuant to the provisions of that article.

(NOTE: The purpose of this bill is the continuation of the
office of water resources within the department of environmental
protection until July 1, 2004, pursuant to the West Virginia sunset
law. This bill is recommended by the joint committee on government
operations for passage during the 2002 regular session of the
Legislature.
